Kiting

Voss is ideal for kiting in the summer as well as winter. The lake located down town Voss, Vangsvatnet, is where keen kite surfers gather in summer. The wind picks up in the afternoon due to the local sun breeze and the wind direction is predominantly from west. Where the river Vosso runs into the lake is a great spot where the kite surfers can play in the currents even on a relatively calm day.

Vikafjellet is a mountain plateau located approximately 40 km from Voss in the direction of Vik. This is a great spot for kiting in the winter. The ski resorts in Voss, Voss Fjellheisar and Voss Fjellandsby Myrkdalen also offers great kiting.
