One call, one challenge
As we speak, the contestants of this year’s great challenge are down by the water paddling surf boards head over heals in a relay along Vangsvatnet.
Gunvor Wæhle, Head of the challenge, is cycling between the disciplines keeping an eye on the competitors. 21 teams are divided into seven groups where three teams, each consist of three persons, compete inwards.

Into the woods
As you go down to the water by Voss camping, you find a large red flag at the start of woods where it says One Call. Further a long the path you catch a glimpse of wet, yet smiling, contestants between the trees.
First, you see a team try to score points at the slackline site, and the other two teams in the group watching.
Second, you see a muddy bike trail, third, an axe throwing site. Roll tractor tires, stack flat rocks in two minutes, team work in a mine field and filling a bucket with dirt by the help of a single spoon, is what the teams go through next. Finally they all meet in the final surf board relay.
Fun for everyone
The excited girls of Go Weden have just finished the team work discipline and are focused on beating their opponents at any cost.
– Our opponents are friends of us, so this is super fun, say the girls, who hope to become medallists in the end.
Gunvor Wæhle says they’ve tried to make a varied program. – We’ve added disciplines that require some precision, some strength, some tactics and some team work, to have something for everyone, and I think we made that happen, says the organiser before cycling on.
