The big finish
The sporting events at Ekstremsportveko 2011 were concluded with a spectacular air show at Prestegardslandet. Later on, the festival program saw its worthy finish with the last concerts of the week.
Bikes off the ground
BMX/MTB and bikinis met at last under the blazing sun in Bavallstunet.
Head to head
A big crowd had showed up for the Head2Head Kayak Race in Strandaelva. With music pumping from the speakers, the BBQ fired up and eager paddlers ready to race, it was all set for an amusing day in the river.
No speed limit
Finally the long-desired day arrived! Sun, wingsuits, spectacular surroundings, sun glasses, blue skies and not to mention, happy and sunburned faces. This turned out to be the perfect day for BASE jumpers and for all of the spectators.
Super sharp
– WOW, there´s so many people here! Marie, Maria, Marie and Embla in the up and coming Norwegian girl band Razika are clearly thrilled to play at Ekstremsportveko.
Perfect for paddling
– Very good! Actually, close to perfect, says Sven Erik Klette, Head of Kayaking, about the conditions for today’s white water kayaking competitions.
Final air show
The sport events at Ekstremsportveko 2011 will be concluded with a spectacular air show at Prestegardslandet Saturday 2nd of July at 19.00.

Extreme activities during the day, requires extreme unwinding during the night!
To the fingertips
Can you hang by one finger from a rock wall? And can you do one finger pull ups as you hang there? The climbers who participated in the Bouldering Competition at Ekstremsportveko 2011 sure can.
Built for speed
The finalists of today’s longboard competition experienced something they have not done in days. Downhill skating on dry asphalt!
First official biketrial
A bike with no seat and a rider with no boundaries. That’s all you need to have fun at a quarry.
One call, one challenge
As we speak, the contestants of this year’s great challenge are down by the water paddling surf boards head over heals in a relay along Vangsvatnet.
Hot in the river
Come sing a song, eat some red hot chilli peppers and blow up a doll! Sounds like a rafting invitation? Think again, as you are introduced to the Amazing Raft Race.
Rafting in the rain
High water levels in the river created exciting conditions for the competitors, resulting in good fun for the spectators at European Cup in Strandaelva.
Kids + spray boxes = art
For some people this may sound strange, but it’s true. This year Veko has engaged in a collaboration with Voss Kunstlag and today a group of youngsters got to produce some real street art with guidance from Your Mamas Favourite Production.

Muddy at Horgi Ned
This year’s Horgi Ned became a wet and muddy race. Still, Joar Wæhle from Voss won third year in a row and stands undefeated.

The Viking of Vikafjellet is cancelled
The Big Air competition Viking of Vikafjellet is unfortunately cancelled due to lack of snow. Some of the invited riders will instead have a Big Air Session at Folgefonna. Also, the skiing part of the multisport competition Horgi ned is cancelled.

Razika in town
The young, but experienced girl band, Razika, will play at Ekstremsportveko Friday 1st of July! They will bring their killer mix of slits-style get-up-and-go, ultra catchy pop-hook mayhem and a shamble-punk attitude to everyones joy! Don´t miss this up coming band!!

We´re proud to announce that researchers from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) will share their Insight within disciplines such as psychology, physics, medicine and jazz at Ekstremsportveko this year.

Head of the Game
One participant stood out in the H2H Kayak Women competition. Silje Skorve from Voss won the race without any difficulties.
Show off at Bavallen
The scheduled BMX competition today were earlier in the week re-sceduled to wednesday earlier this week. Instead of cancelling saturdays competition Ekstremsportveko invited to a bike-show at Bavallen.
Flying treats
The Nordic Championship in Acro paragliding has been ongoing since Wednesday. Today Ove Tillung from Voss could call himself Nordic Champion.
New record for longboard
Asphalt boarding has never been more popular. A total of eighty athletes wanted to compete in the longboard competition this year.
Get a Grip
Some people enjoy clinging on to tiny rocks more than others. The participants of today’s bouldering competition are definitely of those who do so.

The base jumpers are basically having to much fun to compete!
Extreme River Rodeo
After a one-hour drive on the bumpy roads to Mjølfjell, the people who showed up were eager to get “their moneys worth” in action. It is safe to say: Nobody left disappointed!
Morning glory
Mountainbiking and paragliding, Miniconcert with Microbandet and local food an early morning at Lønahorgi. What a start on this sunny day fully packed with activities.

Due to rain that has caused slippery slopes, the two finals in MTB slopestyle and BMX are rescheduled and will take place tomorrow from 2pm. In the sun!

Caroline Mølgaard Onarheim and Markus Wegge won today’s Stand Up Surfboard contest. The big prize was a one-week stay in Portugal at Lapoint Surfcamp.
Riverboard Race
Today’s riverboard contest in Strandelva was an action filled experience worth seeing.
Kayaking Thursday is moved to Mjølfjell
The Brandseth Downhill and Team Race competitions on Thursday have been moved to Mjølfjell due to the low water level in the Brandseth river.
Victorious local rafting teams
The men’s team from Voss Rafting Center and the women’s team from Voss Rafting Club were the winners of today’s European Cup in Sprint, Slalom and Head2Head.

Due to the low water level in Strandaelva, the European Cup in Slalom, Sprint and Head to Head has been moved to Raundalselva in Urdland.

There has been some last minute changes in the program. The Eldbjørg Raknes concert has been rescheduled, and will be held in Raundalen this Tuesday at 13.00.

The Norwegian Solist's Choir is a professional ensemble that usually resides in the finer venues of Oslo. This summer they have decided a different approach when it comes to reaching new audiences.

Due to marginal amounts of snow, there will be a Rail Jam competition instead of a Big Air competition this year.
Casiokids to Veko!!
Casiokids is one of few Norwegian bands that have received a central spot in the program at the Roskilde Festival this year. They will come straight from Roskilde to Ekstremsportveko - Voss, and we look forward to their vivid performance on Saturday the 3rd of July!!

World Base Race at Ekstremsportveko!
Envision two athletes standing at the edge of a mountain cliff. They´re both dressed in state-of-the-art wing suit. At the signal, they jump and race head-on to the finish line, deploying their parachutes and gliding to a safe landing. This is World Base Race (WBR)!

Gondola prices during Ekstremsportveko
You´ll get reduced prices with the gondola at Voss Resort during Ekstremsportveko! The gondola takes you up to Hanguren (660 m.a.s.l), which is a great starting point for bikers, paragliders and day walks.

Unique outdoor concert with Eldbjørg Raknes
Come and experience an outdoor concert with jazz musician Elbjørg Raknes at the old and spectacular farm houses at Hustveit. This concert is a cross over project with Vossa Jazz, where jazz merge with various extreme sports.

Cashless at Veko
This year we´ll use the Cashless payment system in the Festival Tent. The reason why we´ve chosen this system is to make it more efficient for you as a purchaser, less cash handling and to comply with the demands from the authorities for registration and control of turnover.

Almost 400 people showed up for the demonstration to keep Raudalselva protected. . . .
Transport during Ekstremsportveko
Due to limited parking at many of the sport arenas, and for environmental reasons, we encourage athletes and spectators to carpool (which means filling your car). AVIS is contributing with a free minibus to many of the sport arenas.
2nd hand market
Are you one of those who keep old gear in your storage room just in case you might need it one day? And for some reason you never end up using it? Or maybe you are one of those who´d like to get into a sport represented at our festival, but you can´t afford to buy brand new equipment?
NC in hill running
Saturday 3rd of July there will be a Norwegian Championship in hill running. Ekstremsportveko is not in charge of this competition, but our athletes and festival participants can enter the competition for half registration fee.
The Outdoor Recreation Act of 1957
This great law makes it possible for us to travel around, camp and experience outdoor life practically all over Norway. However, even if this law gives us a lot of rights, it also comes with duties.

We are proud to host a Norwegian premier for the kayaking movie Dream Result at Ekstremsportveko. Dream Result is an expression of the essence of white water kayaking and the story of a group of friends who have undertaken a journey to explore the limits of possibility.
